In an exclusive interview with thrive global, David’s wife said that she and her husband have discovered what works for them and what doesn’t in terms of their family life and raising their daughter. In her words,
We’ve become much better communicators and are aware that we must discuss everything. He is aware that the first thing I want to do when I get home from a long day is spending time with Julia rather than writing ten pages of dialogue for the following day. Therefore, he will have dinner ready or will have placed an order.
And that’s just a small thing that takes a little bit of the responsibility off me, where I can just get on the floor and play with her and talk about her day. And then we do bath time, and get her to bed together, and then I can spend time with my husband and then hunker down and learn what I have to do for the next day.
A big thing we do at night before we go to bed, is ask each other: “What’s your day like tomorrow? During which hours do you need help if we don’t have a babysitter to help us out?” We’ve learned to be a lot more patient with each other.
