1. Dorothy Barton Was His First Wife
At the age of 16 in February 1952, the same year Lee Lewis recorded his first demo for Cosimo Matassa, he became married to Dorothy Barton, the daughter of a preacher. The marriage lasted only some months before it saw its end in 1953.
2. Lee Lewis’ Third Wife Was His First Cousin and was 13 Years Old
After his divorce to Jane Mitchum, Lee Lewis headed for another marriage. But this time around was different because he chose his first cousin, Myra Gale Brown who was 13 years old as a wife. At that time, the singer was 22 years old.
Like in his second marriage, Lewis married Brown before finalizing his divorce in 1957. In 1958, they remarried. The marriage bred many controversies and his tour had to be canceled. This again led to his career going down the drain in rock and roll but later, he was able to find his footing trying the country genre.
12 years into their marriage in 1970 after 2 children, one of who later became his manager, Phoebe Allen Lewis, Myra Gale Brown filed for divorce citing different forms of abuses and infidelity. The same year of the divorce, Brown married Pate Malito whom she divorced in 1972, and in 1984, she became married to Richard Williams.

3. Jaren Elizabeth Gunn Pate Was His Fourth Wife Who Drowned Shortly Before Their Divorce
A year after he and Brown parted ways, Lewis went ahead to marry another woman, Jaren Elizabeth Gunn Pate in October 1971. In 1972, they had a daughter, Lori Lee Lewis, who was also Lee Lewis’ 5 children. Coming down to 1982, news rallied that Lewis was heading for another divorce. However, 2 weeks before it could be finalized, Pate while staying at her friend’s drowned in a swimming pool.
4. He Was Accused of Killing His 5th Wife Shawn Stephens
Of all the marriages of the Grammy-award-winning singer Lee Lewis, this was the shortest-lived. They became married in June 1983 and in August 1983, after 77 days, she died. According to a journalist, reporter, author, and screenwriter, Richard Ben Cramer, it was Lewis who was responsible for the death of his then-wife which may have been caused by abuse.
Although the allegation gained some weight, it did not yield any result as Lewis denied it and there never was any proof that it ever happened that way.
5. Kerrie McCarver was His Wife for 21 Years

6. Judith Brown is Lee Lewis’ Current Wife and the Ex-wife of His Cousin
Back in 2010 when the health of Lee Lewis was sailing the boat of ailment, his daughter, Phoebe Lewis whom he had with Myra Brown hired a caregiver for him. The caregiver was the ex-wife of his cousin Rusty Brown, and the brother of Myra Brown.
The care led to an affection that would lead to marriage in April 2012. His daughter who was both his manager and attorney frowned at the relationship. Lewis and Judith on the other hand would not allow Phoebe to end their relationship so Lewis sacked his daughter and later ended in court.
