Jim Skrip was born on November 1, 1960, in Depew, Buffalo, New York. His parents have been identified as Mr. Fredrick and Annette J. Skrip. He has 2 siblings whose names are Michael and Martins.
Jim had his elementary education followed by the high school in unnamed schools located in New York. Vanessa Williams’ husband attended St. Bonaventure University, New York, and graduated with a degree in Accounting in 1984.
He and his family eventually moved from there to Dallas and he started working there before he moved again to San Francisco.
Jim Skrip and Vanessa Williams Met on a Vacation
Jim and Vanessa met in 2013 when they were on individual vacations in Egypt. The actress was on a trip with her daughter while Jim was traveling alone. The Egyptologist tour guide Vanessa had with her encouraged the actress to go talk to Skrip, telling her that he was single.
Williams obliged and they ended up kicking it off and enjoying each other’s company. The singer then invited Jim to her hotel and that was the beginning of their journey to forever.
A year after this meeting, Vanessa admitted on Queen Latifah’s show that she was engaged. This revelation came months after hiding the relationship from the public and the engagement ring stunning on the actress’s finger.
2 years after meeting and a year after their engagement, Skrip and Williams got married. The accountant-turned-realtor got married to the first African American Miss American beauty queen on July 4, 2015. The wedding was held at St. Stanislaus Church, Buffalo, and the reception was celebrated with an Egyptian theme, commemorating the birthplace of their friendship and romance.
This wedding was then followed by another wedding which was held at a Catholic Church in Williams’ hometown on May 30, 2016.

Ramon Hervey II was Vanessa Williams’ first husband whom she got married in 1987. Their marriage lasted for 10 years before they got a divorce in 1997. Hervey II served as Vanessa’s manager as her career was just beginning to boom.
After her split with Ramon, the Ugly Betty actress remained single until 2 years later when she got married to Richard Fox in 1999. She was 36 years old when they got married and the NBA player was 6 years younger than her and she was initially worried about the age difference. Jim Skrip, as already stated, started as an accountant whose career kick-started in Dallas after his college education. One of his first jobs was at Arthur Andersen where he was part of the company’s public account department.
From there, Vanessa Williams’ husband switch careers and became interested in real estate. He started working as an assistant controller at a real estate company. After his stint there had ended, he relocated to San Francisco where he got a job as a financial officer with a software company. Vanessa Williams and her 3rd husband do not have any kids yet. The couple who live in Chappaqua, New York, haven’t welcomed any children in their 8 years of marriage.
63-year-old Jim got married to the Desperate Housewives actress when she was 52 years old. By then, Vanessa already had 4 children. These children were from her first and second marriages which have been discussed already.
With her first husband, the beauty queen has children named Melanie Hervey, Jillian Hervey, and Devin Hervey. They were all born when Vanessa was 24 to when she was 30.
