Fact or fiction, you decide. Raul is fondly remembered for his role in The Addam’s Family. The show bought him to the screen of many who did not know him before. During the shooting, it is alleged his eye fell out of its socket but he was able to catch and push it back. He continued the shooting after the incident according to other cast members.

His final year was marked by sharp pains from a disease he never disclosed. Many fans noticed the weight loss and look in his last movies but Julia was not ready to give up on life just yet. His final screen performance was in The Burning Season: The Chico Mendes Story where he played the role of Chico Mendes, a South American environmental activist.
The portrayal of the activist gave Raul great joy since he was an environmental activist himself. The movie earned him the best actor award for his portrayal of Chico Mendes. His wife accepted the posthumous Emmy in honor of her husband.
4. Merel Poloway Husband Never Gained Consciousness After His Coma
The cause of Raul Julia’s death is complications from a stroke. He battled stomach cancer for three years and had undergone surgery. Raul suffered a stroke on October 20, 1994. The complications of that stroke put him in a coma he never came out of.
He died on 24 October 1994 at the age of 54. At the time of his death, they had been married for 18 years.

Raul marked his name in the sands of time. His last wish was to return home to Puerto Rico where it all began. Raul came to the US in 1964 and he was 24 years old at the time. Over the course of many decades, he became successful on and off-Broadway.
He was put to rest at Buxeda cemetery and a helicopter dropped incarnations as his coffin was lowered. Thousands of people paid their last respect to one of the greatest actors that ever graced their screens.
