Cook County is a county in the U.S. state of Illinois. As of 2020, it was the second-most populous county in the United States, with a population of 5,275,541. The county seat is Chicago. Cook County is bordered by Lake Michigan to the east, Wisconsin to the north, McHenry County and Kane County to the west, and Will County to the south.
