Tammy Slaton’s True Story
The Youtuber was born on July 27, 1986, in Dixon, Kentucky, United States. She lost her father at a very young age and was raised by her mom, Darlene Slaton alongside her siblings, Amy, Amanda, and Chris. Tammy also has two step-siblings, Crystal and Wayne, after her mother got married to Frank Rednour, in 2013, following her father’s death.
Tammy has been overweight all her life. As a kid, she was bullied and called unprintable names because of her size. However, she found support from her younger sister, Amy who was in the same predicament as she was. Often they would be called ugly, fat, lazy, and stupid by different people including their family members. The Youtuber said they only felt love from their grandmother.
Unfortunately, their grandmother died when Tammy was 11 years old and that was when she started eating for comfort. She ate a lot of fast food and got some more from the church. Tammy continued to grow fatter until she started to find trouble with movement due to her size. This was when she decided to start vlogging with her sister Amy.
They opened individual YouTube accounts where they started sharing their stories and day-to-day life. In 2014, they came to the limelight after they joined a challenge called “Chubby Bunny Challenge”. It became viral with close to 2.5 million views.
This drew the attention of the TLC network, which offered them an opportunity to tell their stories on a reality show, which was created for them called “1000-lb Sisters”. The first episode of the show aired in January 2000, at the time Tammy was a little over 600 lbs, while Amy was 405lbs.
A Look Into Tammy Slaton’s Love Life
Tammy Slaton did not allow her situation to deter her from finding love. In fact, she has found love more than once, and though some controversial, she has found a way to enjoy her relationships and make them work.
Jerry Sykes
The TV personality in a quest for love joined a dating site for plus-sized women. It was there she met Jerry Sykes. However, their relationship was not supported by Tammy’s family, as he was perceived as an enabler of her weight gain. Jerry secretly fed her things she was asked to avoid.
By the end of the second season of the show, they broke up. Fans thought it was because the TV personality revealed she was pansexual. However, it was revealed that Jerry was married, and he claimed his wife found out he was cheating on her after she watched the show.
Phillip Redmond
Tammy and Philip Redmond also known as BBWKing. They started dating after meeting online. Redmond traveled to Kentucky from Las Vegas to visit his plus-sized lover. Tammy referred to him as her “wish coming true”
Slaton was so excited and hoped to have a bright future with her new beau. However, there was no “happy ever after” for the couple as they broke up because Phillip was not in support of her weight loss journey.
Michael Mooney
The Youtuber’s new boyfriend has been accused of dating her for clout, after he posted pictures of Tammy with the caption “Words can’t even express how safe and loved I feel when I am with you, I’m forever grateful for everything you do my love. I love you so much. Cheers babydoll, you’re the best thing to have ever walked into my life.”
Mike Mooney never misses the chance to express his love to his plus-sized lover. He defended himself when he was accused of dating her for clout by saying he loves her and has been chasing her for about 3-4years.
Even though there is no information on when the relationship started, the ship seems to be sailing at a high altitude with no sign of slowing down.
