The Hollywood Actor is a Native of Brooklyn
Elliott Gould was born to his parents on August 29, 1938, and he’s 85 years old at the moment. From established records, he was raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York City. However, his family is of Jewish origin as his grandparents have roots that cut across Ukraine, Poland, and Russia.
As for his education, he graduated from the Professional Children School and would later begin his career in the entertainment industry. He got started in the late 1950s with an appearance on Broadways and made his professional debut in the 1957 musical Rumple which also starred the likes of Eddie Foy Jr., Gretchen Wyler, and Stephen Douglass.
Following this, he earned other roles and went on to appear in a number of films and television series such as The Long Goodbye (1973), California Split (1974)The Silent Partner (1978), American History X (1998), Friends (1994 -2004), and Ray Donovan (2013 -2016).
Over the last 7 decades in the industry, he has shared the screen with a number of high-profile actors and has also received notable awards.
A Look at Elliott Gould’s Marriages
In recent times, Elliott Gould has managed to keep his personal life away from the media, particularly his lovelife. We cannot assert if he’s married or romantically linked to anyone at the moment. However, we can confirm that he has been previously married thrice.
He was First Married to Barbra Streisand for 8 Years
From our findings, the American actress and singer Barbra was the first wife of the Hollywood actor, Elliott Gould. The pair first met while working on Broadway together and soon became friends. At the time Barbra was only 19 years old while he was 23 years old. Their friendship would later blossom into a relationship that saw them get married in 1963.
The pair remained married for the next eight years which saw the birth of their son, Jason before they eventually divorced. While the cause of their divorce was not established, Elliot later hinted that they just didn’t work.
Barbra went on to question him about their failed marriage in her memoir. She asked why they grew apart and Elliott’s response was that they didn’t grow together and further stated that she became more important than them. Nonetheless, he noted that their marriage was just great.
Jennifer Bogart Became Elliott Gould’s Second Wife in 1973
Two years after Elliott divorced his wife, Barbra, he moved on with the then 18-year-old actress and screenwriter, Jennifer Bogart whom he met in 1969. The pair fostered a relationship that saw them get married in 1973. Their wedding ceremony was witnessed by close friends and family members.
Elliott and Jennifer seemed like a perfect pair until two years later when news of their divorce made waves. Although their marriage was short-lived, it saw the birth of two children – Samuel Elliott and Molly Elliott.

Elliott Remarred Jennifer Bogart after Three Years
Elliott and Jennifer reconciled and remarried in 1978, three years after their divorce. Apparently, the couple decided to give their marriage a fresh start and work things out.
However, they were only married for 11 years before their marriage hit the rock again leading to their divorce in 1989. What caused their divorce had not been disclosed at the time but in 2012, Elliott hinted that his ex-wife would have to be the best fighter he has ever seen. He explained that she fights for everything including life.
Elliott Gould’s Children also Pursue a Career in the Entertainment industry
As hinted already, Elliot is a proud father of three children – Jason Gould, 56, Molly Gould, 52, Samuel Gould, 50.
While they are in the spotlight as Elliott Gould’s children, they are also finding their path in the entertainment industry. His first son Jason is a musician who has also dabbled in acting. He started his musical career in 2012 joining his mother Jennifer for musical tours. He also sang as part of her backup singer before releasing his first full-length album “Dangerous Man” in 2017.
Aside from his musical pursuits, he also garnered attention in the 1980s after coming out as gay, and rumors even made waves that he had married another man. While Jason confirmed that he was gay, he refuted the claims of being married and further hinted that he was comfortable with his sexuality.
Similarly, Samuel Gould has also dabbled in acting and is known for his roles in James Dean (2001), Kicking and Screaming (1995), and Hard Four (2007).
