Over the years, Namkoong Won has earned his flowers for his contributions in the Korean entertainment industry as an actor. But asides from acting, he has also earned credits for being a great father and husband. He was married to his wife Yang Choon-ja for several years and together, they had three children Jungwook Hong, Hong Sung-a, and Hong Nari.

Namkoong Won Was Married to Yang Choon-ja for several decades
Namkoong Won and Yang Choon-ja were a couple for several years however they managed to keep their marriage away from the public throughout these years. Following this, details on the exact date the pair exchanged vows is not known.
Throughout these years, his wife Yang Choon-ja has also remained behind the scene as part of his support system. Her penchant for privacy has made it difficult to assert facts about her personal and professional life.
Nonetheless her husband career in the entertainment industry often places her in the spotlight. He joined the industry sometime in the late 50s and earned fame in the 60s for his roles in the Korean film industries. He continued to capture the public’s interest with his performances to the 1980s and by that time, he had starred in over 300 films. Some of his best films are “The Red Scarf” (1964), I Love Mama” (1975), and “Woman of Fire” (1971).
For a career that spanned over 4 decades, Namkoong has earned several awards to show for it including Best Supporting Actor at the Build Film Awards and Best Actor at the Grand Bell Awards, and the Order of Cultural Merit Awards in 2016.

Namkong Won and his wife are proud parents of of three children. They have a son named Hong Junk Wook and two daughters namely Hong Sung-a and Hong Nari.

Hong Junk Wook
The couple’s first child Junk Wook was an ex-lawmaker, former member of the National Assembly and former chairman of the Herald Corp.
After his appointment with the Korean government ended, he founded a plant based food company in Korea which is known as the “Organica”. He also serves as the chair man of the company.
Like his father, Junk Wook has been using his business to promote the culture of Korea. As you would find, his father Namkoong was known for his contribution to the development of the nation’s pop culture and even received the Eungwan Order of Cultural Merit, the second-highest class of the South Korean cultural decoration, from the government in 2016.
Hong Sung-a
Namkoong second child Sung-a holds her end as the CEO of Herald Academy. Prior to owning a school, she had plans of also pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.
Hong Nari
She is the youngest of Namkoong 3 children. Like her father, she also pursues a career in the entertainment industry as a violinist. She is also a singer and has a few songs to her name.
