Her Parents Were Sports People and Her Mother was Her First Coach
Christine Sinclair’s parents are William “Bill Sinclair” and Sandra “Sandie” Sinclair. Her father played college soccer at the University of British Colombia.
Additionally, he played at the New Westminster Blues of the Pacific Soccer League.
In the same vein, the 5-time Olympic winner’s mother was a track and field athlete. She was Christine’s first football coach when the 41-year-old was only 4 years old.
Sandie suffered from multiple sclerosis and died in February 2022. The death contributed to Sincalier’s book, Playing the Long Game: A Memoir. She also works to raise awareness and help people with the ailment.
