The affair dragged his name as a married man who could not keep his hands and eyes away from another married woman, Annie. To compound the rumor, Lincoln Riley is married to Caitlin Buckley and shares 2 children. While there are sources that suggest that the Riley affair could be true, others suggest it could equally be false. Regardless, here’s the story.
How the Lincoln Riley Affair Rumor Scandal Started
Sometime in 2021, it appeared that Lincoln Riley and Annie Hanson were having an affair. The rumor of the affair started on Reddit, an American network of communities where people discuss a variety of things.
According to other suggestions on the site, the extramarital affair would push Riley to opt for another career as the head coach with USC Trojans. The move would lead others to call him a backstabber.
Did Riley Cheat on His Wife?
The former Texas Tech quarterback may have cheated on his wife if going by the opinion of Reddit. However, this may not be necessarily true since there is no substantial evidence as regards the allegations.
In addition, the initial report on Riley cheating on his wife with Hanson claimed that there was evidence and Lincoln’s wife knew about the affair. It was further alleged that there were text messages to back the report while Annie’s job may be taken from her due to the cheating scandal.
However, the athletics assistant director would supposedly file a lawsuit for wrongful termination if she was fired.
Other accounts on the cheating claim that Riley left Oklahoma Sooners (OU) because of the scandal after coaching for a total of 5 years to move to USC Trojans football as the 30th head coach in 2021.
In spite of that, Fox Sports Radio among other sources reported that Riley was not happy with Oklahoma when it decided to move to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) instead of the Big 12 Conference they were used to – a claim that was later countered.
A number of people believe the story and cling to the fact that Annie went mute on social media on the case of Riley and his moving to USC even though she was one of the most active of OU staff on social media where she often projects the works of the football team.
As much as we know, both parties involved in the scandal have not given an insight to what happened and are still married to their spouses at the time of this writing.
Who is Annie Hanson, the Woman Surrounding the Lincoln Riley Affair Scandal?
Annie Martin Hanson is an assistant athletics director, recruiting strategy, and administrative engagement at Oklahoma Football, University of Oklahoma (OU). The job started in 2019 and prior to that, she was an executive director of recruiting for the team. It is believed that it was there that she met Riley and started an affair with him.
Hanson also had other careers at the University of North Carolina.
As regards her education, she attended the Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Oklahoma. In the latter, she had her Bachelor of Business Administration, and Management before heading to obtain a Masters in Intercollegiate Athletics Administration.
Annie Hanson is Married to Zach Hanson, a Staff of Riley
In a twist, Zach Hanson the husband of Annie has a coaching career in American football. In 2021, shortly after Lincoln joined USC, Zach also became a staff as the tight-end coach of the team.
The 1988-born also worked with Oklahoma in 2019 as a senior offensive analyst but moved to USC from being an offensive coach for Tulsa.
The husband of Annie, a woman believed to be in the Lincoln Riley affiar rumor also had jobs as an offensive line coach at Kansas State among others.
Well, there are concerns about the Riley-Hanson extramarital affair since Lincoln and her husband may have known each other for a while and even when Riley was the first to start a job with USC, it didn’t stop Zach from moving there.
