Marilyn Nault was an American Jewelry salesperson who is better known as the ex-wife of legendary American basketball player, Bill Russel whose real name is William Felton Russell. She got married to the former NBA star in 1996 and the pair remained together until her sad passing in 2009.
13 years after she passed away, her widowed husband also died in 2022.

Marilyn Nault was born on January 15, 1950, to Quentin and Helen Nault in Concordia Kansas. She was the only girl out of the five children of her parents. Her parents were devoted Catholics who followed the doctrines and raised their children in accordance with the faith.
Growing up alongside her four brothers; Phil, Eric, James, and Kyle in Concordia, She attended Catholic grade and High school.
After high school, she moved to Seattle where she started her career. The details about her furthering in the tertiary institution were still unknown before she met her husband Bill Russell.

At 50, Marilyn married Bill Russell on February 17, 2000. Although it was Marilyn’s first time walking down the aisle, it was Russell’s third.

Their marriage was quite eventful and engaging for them as they always traveled together around the states and abroad, for his work, business, and family vacations.
Her husband’s first marriage was to Rose Swisher in 1956 and it was this union that produced Bill’s three children, Jacob Russell, William Russell, and Karen Russell. These children became the only children Russell had in all four marriages, and Marilyn eventually became their stepmother.
Unfortunately, the first marriage ended in 1973 but he maintained a connection with his first wife because of his children.

Sadly, Six days after she turned 59, and a few days before her husband’s birthday, Marilyn Russell died at Virginia Mason Hospital, Seattle Washington. Marilyn was said to have battled cancer till her demise.
She died as the third wife of the great basketballer, and their marriage was approaching its ninth year when she passed on.
After her death, Russell joined and supported a foundation Harold and Carole Pump Foundation, a foundation that creates awareness for the treatment and cure of cancer.
Subsequently, Russell died 13 years after Marilyn at the age of 88. He died on July 31, 2022, in Mercer Island, Washington, United States. His cause of death was natural and the announcement was made known by his family members.
