Keri Russell’s ex-husband, Shane Deary, could fix up an entire house, possibly alone, but fell on luck’s bad side when he couldn’t fix his marriage of 6 years. He is a carpenter and one part owner of the construction company known as Deary Construction.
When it ended, Deary’s stint as a person of interest in the media also ended. He went back to who he was before the fame and spotlight that came with his marriage to the A-list American actress.
His marriage to Russell which ended in 2013 saw the birth of 2 children – a boy and a girl.
Shane Deary Went Back to Running His Construction Firm
The media has seen less and less of Shane Deary since his split from his ex-wife, American actress, Keri Russell. The few times he was mentioned was shortly after the divorce was done and he and Keri were pictured taking their kids to school.
The other few times were in relation to his business. Deary Construction, which Shane is a huge part of, made it to the news in 2019 for being in charge of a house renovation project for a client.
It will be important to note that Keri Russell’s ex-husband was the one who fixed up their house when they got married. In 2016, he made another impact with his work when he installed kitchen shelves for a client.
Shane Deary co-owns Deary Construction with his brother, Micah Deary. The company started in New York City as a family-owned renovation and millwork company. It soon grew to become a construction business whose aim was to renovate houses in Brooklyn before its expansion to other places like Texas.
The Deary boys learned construction and carpentry work from their father, simply known as Babbo.
Together with Micah, Shane and the Deary Construction company is responsible for quite a number of designs and constructions in the United States. Evidence of this can be seen on their company’s 2 Instagram handles where they have posted most of their jobs over the years. The first Instagram handle is Deary Constructions (@dearyconstructionbrroklyn) while the second is Micah Deary (@deary_diggydigs).
They specialize in a variety of stuff as long as it deals with woodwork and construction.
According to the company’s website, they are capable of handling residential, millwork & furniture, as well commercial projects. They have also collaborated with other companies like Apple Smarthomes, restaurants, art galleries, and even film set design.
Deary never really left the craft when he was married to Keri, however, now, he spends more time with Micah and their extended family.
When they are not working on renovations or fixing up houses, shelves, and kitchens, the Deary family are spending time with each other and going on vacations. They have fun together as a family and with other friends.
He was only Married to Keri Russell for 6 Years
Shane Deary and Keri Russell met back in 2002 as they had quite a number of mutual friends. At the time, the media referred to the constructor as a ‘Brooklyn-based contractor’.
Soon after the meeting, their romance took off and lasted for a couple of years. They dated till 2006 when the lovers became certain about spending their lives together. Shane and Keri got engaged in 2006 and by February 14(Valentine’s Day) 2007, they got married.
They held an intimate wedding ceremony with only important people in attendance. The New York wedding was held during a snowstorm and went on to live a happily married life. For a while, that is.
6 years into the marriage, Shane and Keri’s marriage hit rock bottom. In 2013, they ended the marriage and began the process of moving on with their lives, separately.
The reason for their separation and divorce was not stated but close sources confirmed that it was a mutual decision. Their split was referred to as an amicable agreement and even after, they continued to see and meet.
A year later, in 2014, their divorce was finalized and the Felicity actress got into another serious relationship. She began dating her fellow actor, Matthew Rhys with whom she has a son.
In more recent reports, The Americans actress and her co-star Rhys have begun to refer to themselves as husband and wife.
While Russell has moved on with her life, her private ex-husband’s love life remains a mystery. It has been a couple of years since the divorce and there hasn’t been any news about him remarrying or even getting into another relationship.

48-Year-old Shane Deary is the Father of 2 and Seems to have Custody of the Kids
In the same year Keri and her ex-husband got married, their family increased in number. They welcomed their first child in mid-2007 and he was named River Russell Deary. The young man is currently 17 years old.
According to starbio.in, Keri was 5 months pregnant before her marriage. The couple decided not to have the child out of wedlock and so got married before the boy was born.
2 years before their split, the couple once again welcomed another member to their family. Keri bore a daughter, Willa Lou on December 8, 2011. Willa is a 12-year-old girl who enjoys skating and skiing.
From some research, it seems like Shane Deary has custody of both his kids. Reports reveal that although Russell claimed to be capable of tending to her kids, the December 2013 robbery attack in her home proved otherwise.
Luckily she was home alone and unharmed. The stuff stolen from her was also recovered and the buglers were warned to stay away from her.
River and his sister get to spend a lot of time with the Deary family members and there are no images of them on their mother’s social media accounts.
River and Willa Lou spend time with their uncle Micah, his wife Kelly, and their son, James. They also get to enjoy family gatherings at the Vineyard where the Dearys are wont to be. The family didn’t start off large but in recent times, they seem to be growing in number.
Mae and Babbo Deary, Shane Deary’s parents are always glad to be part of the family and spend time with their children and grandkids.
River or Willa Lou could possibly grow up to be part of the family business after all. Spending time with the Dearys construction men could play a huge role in determining this.
However, Willa Lou has shown that she could also find a place in performance. Maybe she would be the one to take after her mother in the entertainment industry.
