He killed a ten-year-old boy, Jesse Ryan, and two adults, Jeffrey Ryan(55) and their family friend, Jason Dehahn(30) on June 22, 2010.
Based on available records, Ormsby moved into town weeks before the sad event.
He was staying with Robert and Joy Strout. It is believed that the Sprouts were not cordial with each other because of an incident involving their daughter, Tamara, and Jeffrey Ryan. Ryan had an affair with Tamara and is said to have fathered a child.
Moving on, Ormsby claimed he was only after Jeffrey Ryan whom he believed was a drug dealer. However, no evidence backs this claim. Regardless, when Ormsby got to the house, he discovered that Ryan was together with his ten-year-old son, Jesse as well as a neighbor, Jason. Instead of stopping his plan, Ormsby went ahead and stabbed all three.
After stabbing them, he set Jason Dehahn’s truck on fire to cover up the crime.
Jason Hahn’s brother went to Ryan’s residence several times to look for his brother who had not returned home. Yet he did not find him. However, his attention was drawn to blood and he called his father.
Three days later, Jason’s burnt truck was discovered.

One would wonder why he supported Ormsby. Robert revealed that he was threatened by the then 20-year-old Ormsby who claimed he was going to kill Strout’s family if he did not help him. However, Ormsby later denied this after he was apprehended.
