Although her father was often absent from her life following his musical career and divorce, the family still managed to maintain a healthy relationship. At present, she is married to the bassist, Charles Jones, and together they have three children.
While you would soon learn more about Carmen, her father Robert Plant is renowned as the lead vocalist and lyricist of the English rock band Led Zeppelin between 1968 to 1980. Following the band spilt, he joined other bands and also pursued a solo career. Some of his awards include 2 NME Awards, 8 Grammy Awards, Album of the Year for Raising Sand (2008), and Best Rock Album for Led Zeppelin’s Celebration Day (2013).
The Early life of Carmen Jane Plant
The daughter of Robert Plant was born on November 21 1968 in Birmingham, England, and is currently 55 years old. She is the oldest of her siblings; Karac Pendragon (who sadly passed on in 1977 at the age of 5), Logan Romero Planet, and her half-brother named Jesse Lee Plant ( a product of her father’s relationship with her aunt, Shirley Wilson).
Carmen was largely raised by her mother, Maureen Wilson because her father, Robert Anthony Plant was very engaged with several events as an international singer. Unfortunately, her parent’s divorce in 1983 further strained their relationship however, he managed to build a father-daughter relationship later.
The only known school she attended is the Elm-field Rudolf Steiner school in Stourbridge, West Midlands. Other details about her educational pursuits are limited.
She is a Belly Dancer and Instructor
While many children take in their parent’s career steps, others simply follow a different trail. Carmen obviously belongs to the second category. Even though her father had introduced her to the music scene and even captured her voice in one of his songs, The Ocean (1972) Carmen was simply not drawn to music.
Rather, she became a belly dancer and instructor. Carmen has been to different dance schools and has been tutored by a number of professional dancers including Serena Ramzy. Her impressive dance moves have seen her perform in different events, festivals, and productions. some of which include the Rivermead Womad Music Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Babylon Arabic Ensemble, Middle Eastern entertainment, and African trance.
Carmen Jane Plant is Married to a Bass Player
As you would easily find, Carmen Jane Plant has been married to Stephen Charles Jones since the early 90s and they have remained so until now. They have not revealed how and when they met to the public however, it is presumed that they met during one of their musical tours since he previously worked as a bassist for her father Robert Plant.
While we can’t assert when their relationship kicked off, credible sources report that they got married in 1991 precisely on the 8th day of May. Their wedding was held at St. Peter’s Church and was followed by a reception at her father’s farm in Kidderminster. Being a celebration of celebrities, high profile guests, musicians, and dancers were present.
It’s been over 2 decades since then and they are still together. The pair have also welcomed three children to their family including their eldest daughter Sunny Plant-Jones, two sons and an adopted daughter.
She is Estimated at $5 million
Carmen apparently makes money from her career in the entertainment industry however, she has been close-lipped on her earnings. Nonetheless, Loveohlust estimates her at $5 million. You would agree that the mother of three has remained relevant in her own rights as a ballet dancer and instructor.
On the other hand, her father Robert Plant is reportedly worth $200 million. This isn’t hard to believe following his musical career that has spanned over 5 decades.
