He began his career as an actor in 1987 when he played the character of Smitty in the 1980s sitcom, “The Cosby Show”. In 1989 he made his movie debut in “Going Overboard”.

He dedicated a whole movie, “50 First Dates” to his father. It read;
My father, my mentor, my teacher, my coach, my idol, my hero, my family’s leader, my mom’s best friend, and by far the coolest guy I will have ever known. We will miss you every day, but we will always try to make you proud.”
He takes time to celebrate his father every fathers day after his demise, He referred to him as the most fun Dad ever. Just like any human, Stanley had weaknesses one of which was a short temper. He would often call Adam a moron and he would use jokes to calm him down.
Before his death, Stanley was proud of his son and the life he had built for himself. Despite not being in support of Adam when he started off as a comedian. He called him “a Laughter Seller”.
