Bailey Jean Cypher gained fame as an American celebrity child born to the Grammy-winning singer, Melissa Etheridge, and movie maker, Julie Cypher through sperm donated by David Crosby. Bailey is a talented singer and instrumentalist in her own right who is yet to release her own materials. Also, she is the oldest of four siblings born to Melissa. She was born on February 10, 1997, to Melissa Etheridge and former partner Julie Cypher, Bailey Jean Cypher. Regarding the situation of her birth, Bailey was conceived through artificial insemination. While many parents who go through this process choose to keep the identity of their child’s donor quiet, we learned that Bailey’s biological father is the legendary singer David Crosby, renowned for his time with Crosby, Stills & Nash.
Apparently, when her parents who are friends with Crosby and his wife, Jan wanted to start a family, Jan allegedly suggested her husband to them. In a twist, he donated his sperm not once but twice to the pair. First for Bailey and secondly for her younger brother Beckett Cypher who was born on November 18, 1998. Bailey was told the identity of her biological father when she was three years old and over the years, she maintained an admiration for the iconic singer.
After her mothers split, Etheridge moved on with Tammy Lynn Michaels whom she married in 2006. Through this union, Bailey has two younger siblings, twins Miller Steven Etheridge and Johnnie Rose Etheridge who were conceived with an unidentified donor.
