1. Luna Was Given Five Names at Birth
Luna Thurman Busson was born Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence on 15 July 2012 in Boston, Massachusettes to her parents Uma Thurman and Arpad Busson.
Naming Luna was a debate between her parents because they couldn’t agree on a name for her, but they ended with “Luna” as a short version. According to her mother, she will be the last child she would bear and they decided to name her all the names they wanted.
2. Her Parents Were Never Married
Luna’s parents met after Luna’s mother had her divorce from the Stranger Things actor, Ethan Hawke. Her mother began dating Arpad Busson, Luna’s father in 2007 and got engaged the following year.
The engagement lasted for six years before they called it off in April 2014, two years after Luna’s birth.

Following her parents’ separation, Arpad Busson filed for an emergency order for the custody of the then-2-year-old.
Her father filed the order at the Manhattan Supreme Court under the Jurisdiction of Justice Matthew Cooper. The case lasted for 3 years, ending in 2017.
During the trial, Luna’s father on several occasions skipped the hearing and Uma claimed that she faced a lot of difficulties while they dated and he pulled a lot of tantrums in front of her older kids.
