Liyah’s father, Danny ‘KP’ Kilpatrick owns the first tattoo shop, iAM Compton. Before becoming a tattoo artist and a rapper, he worked as a stripper. Her mother, Kyla Pratt is a former Disney Channel actor.
Danny revealed how he met Pratt during the promotion of Black Ink Crew: Compton. He said he and the mother of his kids met through a mutual friend in 2005. At first, there were times it seemed he was trying to downplay her.
After dating for a while, they got engaged in 2011 and when people were expecting the wedding date, Pratt came out to say she was in no rush to get married and that she and KP were enjoying their relationship together.
The couple featured together on the reality show Black Ink Crew: Compton in 2019.

It is not surprising that Liyah and her sister already showed interest in acting since they might have gotten that trait from their mother. Kyla Pratt started acting and appearing in commercials at the age of 8.
Known for voicing Penny Proud in the first Disney Channel animated series, The Proud Family, Pratt played several roles while growing up. Some of these include playing one of Eddie Murphy’s children Dr Dolittle 1 & 2 alongside actress Raven-Symone. She also appeared in the series Let’s Stay Together from 2012 to 2014, Friends and Smart Guy.
Liyah’s mother has appeared on the big screens alongside A-list actors like Eddie Murphy, John Leguizamo Omar Epps, Sanaa Lathan, and Gabrielle Union.

According to reports, Danny had dreams of becoming a professional athlete but it was cut short after he was caught in possession of marijuana and was arrested. That led to the termination of his scholarship and subsequent expulsion from Lincoln College where he was studying.
The father of three spent some years in prison before he got out and started afresh. He also is an actor and singer-songwriter. He has appeared in films and TV shows such as Mystery ER, Black Ink Crew: Camption, and Morbid: A Love Story.
As a tattoo artist, he has inked tattoos for celebrities such as Travis Scott, Diddy, Taraji P. Henson, and Nas.
